Alcohol Free Crystal Light Mocktails {review}

With my weight loss journey in full swing I often get tired of water. Every now and then I’d like to indulge into something sweetly flavored or even a Margarita or Martini on a hot summer day. Since I am not able to consumer the calories right now I have to find alternative to fix my sweet tooth cravings.
I recently had the opportunity to review the new Crystal Light Mocktails. Crystal Light Mocktails are simple to make beverages that have your favorite mixed drink flavors without the alcohol (or calories). Crystal Light Mocktails are available for a limited time in three mixed drink flavors- Margarita, Mojito and Appletini. Each 8 oz. serving contains just 5 calories!

These alcohol free beverages are simply to make- a packet and water! It’s that simple. Now since I really wanted to experience a frozen Appletini (apple martini) I decided to blend ice and mix in the Appletini packet. The flavor was refreshing and tasted much better than expected! While the Vodka flavor was missing, it did have a blended flavor of a non-alcholoic sweet beverage.

I’ve never been a fan of the Mojito which is made with white rum, sugar, lime juice, sparkling water and mint. I’m not much of a rum drinker and the Crystal Light Mocktails Mojito actually was better than the alcohol beverage available in clubs or restaurants. The lime flavoring is there with a hint of mint. I made a few pitchers of the Mojito and topped them off with ice for a BBQ we recently had and several people asked me what type of drink it was.

The Appletini was my favorite flavor and I am sad to report I used all of my samples. I’ve tried to locate the Crystal Light Mocktails here and have not been able to find them! Either my local stores are sold out or they are not carrying them. I would love for Crystal Light to come out with an Amaretto Sour flavor because that is my favorite mixed drink ever!

{Crystal Light Mocktails- Pros}

  • The flavors are bold- not the typical packet mixed drink.
  • Crystal Light Mocktails are a great low calorie alternative to mixed drinks.
  • One packet makes enough for several people to enjoy.

{Crystal Light Mocktails- Cons}

  • They are not available for single servings, which would be great for bottled water.
  • Not sold at all large chain supermarkets.
