Bialetti’s 5-quart Pasta Pot {review & giveaway}

I’ve had the opportunity to work with Bialetti again on another fabulous review! Several months ago I reviewed the Aeternum Eco-Friendly Cookware and this time I received the 5-quart Pasta Pot in purple for review.

Bialetti is an Italian brand of stove-top coffee makers and cookware products that’s bringing a unique combination of current yet accessible Italian design and quality at every price point. Headquarted in Coccaglio, Italy, Bialetti puts a face on the modern Italian’s unique approach to life, with a passion for all things good – style & design, food, friends, family and relaxation.

About The Pasta Pot

Reinforcing Bialetti’s commitment to quality, innovation and style, the world’s original 5-quart Pasta Pots feature a comfortable and oversized, ergonomic, heat-resistant handle and convenient non-stick interior coating and is available in three colors: Purple Passion, Blue Cheer and Orange Spice.

I received Bialetti’s purple passion pasta pot and love the color! My kitchen has a Tuscan style and the purple blends in great. The pot is very shiny with a sparkle appearance and looks like it has a glitter effect in the paint.

The pasta pot is an oval shape designed to cool spaghetti and lasagna noodles without breakage. The shape of the pot allows extra long noodles to lean without braking until the pasta is cooked enough to completely fit into the pot. This is essential for lasagna noodles and 3/4 a box will fit perfectly in the 5-quart pot without any breakage.

The pasta pot comes with a lock-on lid which is great to not only keep boiling water from possibly burning someone but also acts as a colander. The lid locks in place with a simple turn and does not move until it is twisted off. I found the lock-on lid very useful during cooking and while draining water. Nothing hurts any more than being burned with boiling water and the lid allows the pot to be drained without the possibility of being burned (unless you put your hand directly under the water). The handles on the pot are sturdy and do not move when draining or moving the pot. The only thing I did notice was if you stand directly behind the pot when you’re draining the steam will come up to your face. I found it easier for me to stand on the side a bit to keep from getting the hot steam blown into my face.

Bialetti 5-quart Pasta Pot Plus Points:

  • It’s available in several fun colors for the cook that enjoys fun while cooking.
  • The built-in strainer eliminates need for colander, which means one less thing to wash after dinner!
  • The non-stick interior keeps foods from sticking.
  • The interlock feature on the lid offers peace of mind when draining boiling water.
  • The pot is made of a lightweight aluminum, which means no more heavy pots to struggle with.

{Final Thoughts}

I’ve grown very font of the Bialetti 5-quart Pasta Pot and use it often. It’s easy to wash by hand or it can be washed in the dish washer. The handles always stay cool and the top of the lid does also.

For the price of the pot you can’t go wrong. I’ve tried many pasta pots over the years where the lids did not work as claimed or the shape was round. The shape of this pasta pot is fabulous and the lid stays locked! It’s made well and would not only make a great addition to any kitchen, but would serve as a great gift.
