This post brought to you by Family Dollar. All opinions are 100% mine.
Last week I posted my commitment to couponing and while I am committed to saving money on groceries with coupons, I have also started to look for additional ways to cut the grocery bill down. I’ll admit I have always used the same brands I grew up on. The national-brands my mom used are mostly the brands I have used since starting my own family.
In my efforts to reduce our $1200-$1300 monthly grocery bill, I have started using some off-brands when I do not have a coupon or when the smaller/generic brand is cheaper.
Today I learned about the Family Gourmet brand offered by Family Dollar. It is a brand I have yet to try, but Family Gourmet claims to save customers over 30% versus national brands. This sounds like a deal to me, so my next trip out I will be headed over to Family Dollar to sample a few of the brand items.
My husband likes Maxwell House Coffee which can get up to $10 a container! The 34.5 oz Family Gourmet Ground Roast Coffee is advertised as $2.50 less than Maxwell House Original 34.5 oz . The 16 oz. Family Gourmet Non Dairy Creamer is also advertised as $1.25 cheaper than Coffee Mate Creamer 16 oz. If those numbers are accurate, that could be a $3.75 savings just by switching his coffee brands!

I’ll post an update later this week with my findings after we try some of the Family Gourmet line! With their 100% Guaranteed there is nothing to lose by trying out the brand, as it can be exchanged or returned if your not happy!
