Need some inspiration to get your kitchen brightened up a but for Spring? Here are 5 tips to help freshen up the kitchen!

Have A Spring Clean

This in an obvious one really, but it’s amazing what a good, deep clean can do for the look and feel of your kitchen. And it’s free! Spring-cleaning is simply about giving a proper clean to those areas that are usually neglected, such as inside or under cupboards, inside the fridge and freezer and even the windows. Also, don’t forget to search at the back of the cupboards for those out of date foods that are simply never going to be eaten, and chuck them away!

Paint The Walls

Painting is quick, cheap and can make the world of difference. Even if you don’t want to change the color scheme in your kitchen, cooking can cause dirt and grime to build up on the walls and surfaces and make the paintwork appear dirty; therefore a fresh coat of paint can really brighten everything up for the spring.

Replace Worn Fixtures And Fittings

While a whole new sink can set you back a fair bit, a new tap can work out considerably cheaper whilst still giving your kitchen the fresh new look it craves. Try investing in a quality brand such as Franke taps. Franke taps are renowned for their ability to produce consistently high quality products and state of the art designs, and by choosing a new tap from Franke taps you can guarantee you’ll receive a product that will not only freshen up your kitchen for the coming spring, but also for many springs to come. Other fixtures and fittings that can be replaced at a low cost are cupboard doors and low cost appliances such as toasters. What’s more, when sprucing up your kitchen this way, not only will you make it appear cleaner and fresher but it will be more practical too (Franke taps are also known for offering practical and functional designs such as top of the range mixer taps).

When we think of accessorizing, we usually think of jewelery, bags and shoes, but accessorizing our kitchens can make a huge difference and turn them into the perfect place for tucking into a light, delicious meal this spring. Try buying a nice vase and keeping it regularly filled with bright, spring flowers. Also, investing in new placemats and napkins is a very effective way to brighten up a tired looking kitchen without breaking the bank.

Get Arty

While we love adorning our living and bedroom walls with pictures and paintings, few of us choose to do the same in our kitchens. Simply hanging a spring inspired piece (think the countryside, nature and flowers) can instantly transport us away from the dark and dreary colors of winter and into the blossoming months of spring. Buying art doesn’t even have to be expensive. Prints offer great value, or you could even head outside and take some photos of the first signs of spring to get blown up and framed for your home.

I think there is nothing that makes a house look fresher and cleaner than a fresh coat of paint. Makes the whole look of the room different. I love to paint.

  2. I have needed a new kitchen faucet for quite some time. It drips and I can hear it in the loft when I am trying to sleep… Talk about frustrating… After reading this, I think I will stop putting it off and buy a new faucet… mtdoonmeister at gmail dot com
