Three Delightful Ways to Decorate Your Table for Thanksgiving
We’re well into the holiday season, and Thanksgiving is right around the corner. If you’re planning on entertaining guests, you probably have a million things on your mind: What are your in-laws going to say this time? How are you going to fit everyone in your house? What did your cousin name her new baby again? And of course you can’t forget: How do you decorate the table? Well, some of those questions you’re going to have to figure out on your own, but I’m here to help with the decorations. Here are three clever ways you can spruce up the Thanksgiving table this year.
1. Make your scarf a table runner!
No boring tablecloths this year! Using a fall-colored scarf as a table runner is a great way to bring your table to life. This scarf would be gorgeous on a Thanksgiving table: think golden mustards, rustic reds, and burnt oranges for your fall-ish scarf table runner.
2. Fall-themed placeholders and centerpieces.
You can avoid many awkward meal conversations by choosing the seating arrangement, and if you do it decoratively, maybe people won’t notice who you are trying to separate. Write guests’ names on fake leaves and place them where they are to be seated. This would look great with fall-themed centerpieces, perhaps a cornucopia or miniature pumpkins and gourds.
3. Mum’s the word.
Mums are in season and most likely inexpensive this time of year. You can place small pots of them on your table or get creative, placing them in little baskets. The colors are gorgeous and will be sure to impress your guests.
As always, these are just a few of the ways you can decorate your table, but part of the fun is in getting creative! These decorative ideas could also be used to liven up a kitchen counter, coffee table, or living room mantle. The opportunities are endless. Happy Thanksgiving!
